Unfortunately, dog's don't tend to enjoy being tied up. This causes them to become very frustrated, and when they are frustrated, they will often start displaying destructive and sometimes even aggressive behavior. If this is not a situation that you can avoid, then I think you will need to do all you can to make sure your dog is happy. Some ideas are to exercise your dog before tying her up so that she is more likely to sleep. You should also leave lots of toys for her to play with. Does she like chew toys? Unfortunately it is too much to hope that your dog will sleep or stay still and stay out of trouble if you are away all day, especially considering that she is only 8 months old. You will need to find ways to ensure that she is entertained. Do you have family or friends that could visit your dog while you are away? Wishing you the best of luck!
