Peeing in new places

Mia my bearded collie unneutured bitch is 20 months and housetrained to "go"outside, but I go visit my sons house who has a male unneutered foxterrier and she pees on the carpet, on the floor wherever. She never pees more than 3 times a day, but there in 2 hours time she went 3 times. She gets along fine with the foxterrier, they play for a while and then lie together except if I get up she then follows me in the house where I go. Could it be she is marking territory? Its quite disturbing as I am afraid of taking her to other peoples houses. Normally she is very friendly, but obedience is not her strong point, altho' she comes when called, sits , stays but not for long, walks quite properly but another dog is too great a temptation to play and pulls on the leash then, I have her sit and stay then but the next time does the same thing, We are together all day even at work, where she is well known and loved by everyone for her friendly atitude. What can I do to stop her peeing where she isn't supposed to. I add that as she does it when I don't see it I don't scold her. Thank you.

Hi,
Does she pee in the same places in their house? Do you know whether their dog has ever peed in those places? As you can tell, I am wondering whether it is possible she is marking over his peeing. They may have cleaned it up but not totally gotten rid of the smell. Was she in season when she started this? How interested is he in the places she goes?
Sorry, lots of questions with no answers.

She peed once on the floor, once on the carpet in the bedroom, and once in my grandaughters duffle bag. I don't think their dog peed in these particular places, and she wasn't in heat. At my other sons she peed on the bedroom carpet, he has no dogs. I think that maybe it was done out of spite even tho' I wouldnt think this possible. This happened afer I had left her alone for 4 hours and then came back and we went visiting my son, on the way she had peed, so I was sure that it wasn't that after being alone she needed to go. I do have her restricted at home and at night I close the bedroom door so she has no access to the rest of the house because before sometimes in the morning whenn she had access to the other rooms she peed on the living room carpet, but hasn't done it now for 3 months, The rest of the time we are home she gets full access to the house. In my store where we work together she never did anything except once that she was left alone after hours for 2 hours and she pooped, but I dismissed it because it was real soft and I thought that she hadn't been able to "hold it" Await your reply and thank you.

Just trying to figure your dog out. Peeing in the bedroom in both houses does sound as if she is marking territory. Is this the bedrooms of your sons or their guest bedrooms? If the guest bedrooms, do you sleep there?

In both its the master bedroom where I never sleep. But in my first sons where she peed 3 times she peed in the living room, in the childrens room where I had been studying with my grandaughter after we had left the room and were having supper in the kitchen. I also think its territorial, but how do we solve it as I'm ashamed to go visit them and leave such nice presents.
She is dominant, obeys only with imperative voice, something not usual in me, but have learned to. She behaves quite well but I can't let a day pass without having her obey different orders, but she has such a beautiful disposition with people or other dogs, that she gets away with murder with all others involved. Except my sons of course who insist that she's a spoiled brat but admit that she has a lovely temper. Thanks for the time and disposition you are giving us.

Have you read the book on being alpha? This does sound as if she is a very dominant bitch. Since she thinks she ranks above your sons (and they think she is spoiled), they should also practice being alpha to her. Someone else on the forum may have a better idea, but I get the sense she is deliberately peeing to show your sons where they rank.
