leash problems

Hi,
I have a three month old lab and am using Secrets to Dog Training with him. I had great results with the sit, come and stay commands but now I´m having problems with the first part of the heel command. When I pull on the leash he just lays down and I can't get him to start walking or even get him to sit again.
Any suggestions?

hi and thanks for your post, before we try to work a solution I just wanted to ask for some extra information. Are using treats or toys with your dog and is he food or toy motivated?

Hi ,
Thanks for your response. Yes I use treats with him although he just goes for the treat and as soon as he gets it he lays down again and won't move. And with toys he loves playing as long as he's off the leash.
Yesterday evening and this morning I tried another approach, which is bringing along our older black lab with us, he's really good on a leash. That seemed to get our puppy Cacao going, I was able to walk around the block! Though when he pulls on the leash and I stop him and then gently pull on the leash myself, he lays down again. And he does pull quite a lot. Is it a good idea to keep walking the puppy with our older dog, or not? I'm hoping that if I do this for a week or two then he'll be ready for more formal heel command training...
I would greatly appreciate your advice,

Rafael
