:confused: Hi can any one help me PLEASE I just got a 4 months old maltese male puppy a couple of weeks ago , im still house training him he does his business at the spot but still some times when I let out to play with me in my living room he does it , he also does it in the garden during his play time so i dont know how to let him does it in his place only ? and also when I take him out of the house I dont want him to think that the world is his big open space toilet . He also likes to bite I got all sorts of chewies but he seems to enjoy my hands and feet , I heard thats because hes teething and it'll stop when hes 6 months old is that true ? And whats the solution to stop the bitting ?
I know, puppies are adorable but can also make you want to scream too! Potty training takes time...most dogs are not fully potty trained until 6 months of age so you have about 2 more months. I'm not sure that I would worry too much about where your puppy goes in the garden as long as its outside. You can use a pooper scooper and pick up his poop in the yard each time. Not a big deal! (Its also more sanitary.)
In the house, he is still at an age where he needs constant supervision. If you can't watch him, have him in a crate or safe room. Be sure to praise him with a treat if he goes potty outside. If you catch him in the act in the house, say "no-no" and pick him up quickly to take him out. If you don't see him go in the house, then say nothing. Its your fault, not his. Just clean up the mess and vow to pay more attention to him. Be sure to take him out when he wakes up, after he eats, and after he plays. Treats and lots of happy praise are the ticket to potty training.
As far as biting hand and feet. This is very common. Yes, he is teething. Never play with him by letting him bite on you. If he bites your hands, make a loud "ow!" sound to let him know it hurts. Say "No mouth!" sternly to him. Offer him a chew toy instead. Play ball with him, anything to keep his mouth occupied.
Thank you for your advice but these simple solutions arent useful for the biting problem I tried it before , it didnt work with him . And it is a problem if my puppy does it outside coz he is trained to do it only indoors in his special bathroom coz urine & stool ruins the garden .
