Our new puppy, a Bluetick Coonhound had had one set of shots at the breeder ( a 5 in one) and one set from our vet. The vet is telling us we have to wait at least 6 more weeks before we can walk him outside. Is this really the case or are they being over cautious? His is 11 weeks old now and really, really needs the simulation of walks. We paly him and train him with all the time we have and thats not enough. Looking for advice. We do not live in an area with homeless dogs, but you can never be sure of how well they are taken care of.
I am not in a position to dictate what is the 'best' management of your pup with regard to his vaccines. Successful vaccination is a multifactorial event and I guess it is just best to be safe rather than sorry. If you are really keen to take him outdoors, maybe check with another vet in your area and discuss possible risks involved.
Sorry that I can't be of more help. I do not know the kinds of diseases and their prevalence in your area, so I can't comment on your situation.
Good luck with your new puppy. Just make sure he gets lots of puppy play time in your yard if he can't go on walks.
