O.K I have to challenges with My two brothers. I have two Golden doodles. Both are very responsive at work well on and off the leash. However, when they have time alone they eat poop. YUK! Cournel the bigger brother like to get in the trash. He knows he is busted when I walk in on him and sits quik. But he still gets in it.

ANY HELKP WITH THE TRASH AND YUK WOULD BE GREAT...

There is something called FORBID that you can mix in the food. It apparently makes the poop unappetizing. It worked for a friend.

Hi there and thanks for the post.

There are a few things you can do.
But first...what diet are they on? A dietary imbalance can often show first as coprophagia (eating poo). So if they are not on a complete diet like Hills or Eukanuba think about switching them over to help.

Now this problem can often also occur when dogs are bored so try and up the number of toys they have as well as the amount of exercise they are getting. They should be getting 20-30 minutes at least a day.

If you catch them make sure to tell them off quickly and thoroughly. Telling them off will let them know that it is not okay and help the problem.

I ffeeed them 2x daily in the morning and when we eat dinner. I feed them puppy chow. I also walk them just about everyday. Dog park 2-3 times a week for at least and hour.

A while back, had the same problem with one of our dogs. It was recommended that we add Brewers Yeast to their food. This seemed to help and it was much cheaper in the long run.

My rottweiler/pitbull mix used to do this when she was very young and first came to live with us. I couldn't stand it as she would eat rotting dead rabbits that she found whilst we were walking in the mountains as well as poop.
I muzzled her for a while and after a few weeks she stopped eating poop (but still likes rotting rabbit complete with maggots)

I have an german shepherd mix who also used to do this as a pup but grew out of it.
