We have a stranger aggressive 7 yr. old male boxer. I was looking up different trainers in my area. She told me it's a 6 week training course based on Alpha Training. She said we will have to keep him in a crate or with me on a leash 24/7 for the 6 week period. I thought this sounded a little extreme, but i'm not a professional. Any thoughts?
You are certainly right in feeling that this is a little extreme. I wouldn't recommend leaving the most agressive dog in crate all day- it will make them frustrated and only worsen the problem. Having them on a leash by your side is alright, but leashes tend to get tangled in things and could thus result in dangerous scenarios with regard to your dog's safety.
You could do a little more research on this trainer you have sought and ask for some testimonials.
