male or female?

We are about to buy a Hungarian Vizsla pup and am unsure whether to get a dog or a bitch. I have always had Papillons and thought that the females were easier pets (mostly because of males marking territory),but several vizsla owners tell me that the males are better because they are more loyal and the females can be aloof. I would welcome any opinions on this.

Hi there......I have done a bit of searching on the internet, but I am not able to find any info on whether a male Vizsla has a better temperament than a female. You may want to call a couple of breeders or Kennel Clubs for more info. Whether you get a male or a female, you will need to ensure that they get lots of exercise! They are very active dog's and will bore easily if not getting the right amount of physical and mental stimulation. However, they are also very loving dogs so I am sure that owning one will be very rewarding. I wish you all the best with your new puppy!

Thankyou eyeluvdogs. The pups are now 1 week old so we still have quite a few weeks to go until we get him. We will be giving him heaps of excersice as we live near the beach and are a very active family.(I'm pretty sure it will be a him.)
