I am guessing this is the same dog you wrote in about earlier? How is training going?
Changing Ashley's name shouldn't be too difficult, considering she is young and clever. It will be easiest if you pick one that has the same number of syllables as her old name and better still, one that rhymes with her name (such as Marley). The crucial bit is to NEVER use her old name again and to be consistent with the new name. Use it to train her (sit, stay, recall etc.) and have treats at hand for rewarding her. Keep these sessions short so she stays focussed and conduct them 2-3 times a day( ~5-10 minutes each time). She should be comfortable with the new name in no time!!
