Hi, My yellow lab has weeping from bith eyes. It is not gunky or inflamed looking, but leaves red streaks on her face. She doesnt seem bothered by this at all. Should I just leave it(been about 2 wks) She has had no change in diet or environment. We do go to a dog park everyday yhat can be quite dusty and muddy, as she rolls around alot when she is playing I wondered if it could be this thats the problem. Many thanks.

Hi there,

As long as your dog's eyes aren't red or pussy and she doesn't seem irritated by them, it is alright for her to have a small amount of tears. Tears are important for keeping your dog's eyes moist, especially in dusty or dry conditions. A reddish-brown stain will appear due to the light color of her coat, although you can clean this away gently with a damp cloth. If she seems to be tearing up and blinking excessively, gunky stuff appears, has red eyes or you see her rubbing her eyes with her paws, you should take her to your vet as soon as possible. They will be able to assess the cause of her condition and treat her in the best possible way.

I hope this helps!
