Hi we have a 2 yr old Border terrier that will not eat. We have tried various techniques and food brands over the years. He will enjoy a new brand for a week or 2 and then refuse to eat again. Any suggestions gratefully received. He is under weight but healthy fit. Full of energy, happy. Good in every way except lack of appetite.

Hi there,

It may sound harsh but have you tried just waiting it out? Dogs are more of an animal that will eventually eat whatever is offered before starving (whereas cats are a bit more stubborn and will just refuse to eat point blank).

You could also try a home made diet, if youre willing. We have a recipe ebook, or you can google recipes for homemade dog foods. People often go with chicken, rice, and veggies

Hi
I have a two year old Basset Hound and I feed her raw mince, carrot & sliced beans choped through a small electric choper and I also add a product called fish for dogs mix in, you can get sardine, tunna, salmon or others it's only a small amount but adds to flavour and gives her omega 3. good luck
