I have written several times before about my chihuahua/terrier biting me, I did everything the vet and dog trainer told me to do, yet he bit me again really bad, he has a history of lots of scars inside from being bitten by a pit bull, and I believe emotional scarring from people he lived with before. The vet said he could put him down seeing I did everything I could to stop the biting, he is lovable almost always and I dearly don't want to put him to sleep. He snaps without rhyme or reason, just boom and bites me severely.
Vet said he could cut the canines down and that would help the tearing of my oh so thin flesh, he said sometimes this also stops the biting, has anyone on here ever done that or knows of someone who has? His death sentence is next week Wednesday, they had to have me keep him for 10 days first because of this last bite?

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear this, especially because I know the lengths you've gone through to try and cut down on this sort of behaviour.

I've never heard of someone having their dogs teeth filed down or removed for a biting reason, only seen it as something for old dogs with sore mouths or some oral health problem. While I understand the canines are the sharpest, I don't know that this would stop the injuries inflicted from your dog biting.

Ultimately, its your choice, and I know that you have the best judgement in this situation because you know your dog better than anyone. I wish you the best of luck and support during your decision time and after. We're all behind you.

Today is the day my beloved Twitch gets put down, it has been hell the past 10 days, each day looking into those big brown eyes knowing I have to be god and put him down. I plan to bring him home to rest and my son will be coming today to help me get through this and to find a good place for him. Thank you for caring and sharing.

Hello again, my poor little Twitch, he was supposed to be put down on this past Thursday, however, when my son came to go with me, he said after seeing the picture of his bites from the pit bull, my son's former home that he had is where that happened, anyway, he said he don't deserve to be put down, so he said he would try and take him for a month, he has two cats and a very small house and works, so we were going to try it and I was supposed to take him there today, except my son's rented mobile home started leaking from the water pipes so he could not take him today, it seems that this little guy is meant to be with me even though he may someday bite my face off, hopefully not but I never know with him, sure wish the dog whisperer could come free to my house and tell me what to do about him going off like that. Oh well just venting again.

It sounds like its been a few ups and downs for you lately - I hope you are coping well enough. Its good that your son is willing to give Twitch another chance, and maybe it will work out - please let us know how things are going once the move has happened!

I am beginning to wonder if they little guy will be forever with me until he does go off and really get me, my son was going to take him this Sunday but his water pipes broke in his rented mobile home, so he is still here lbeing loving and wanting all my attention, guess I just have to be careful so he isn't my fatal attraction like on that TV show.
