Hi,

My little Jake had an amputation of his left hind leg on Monday and he is now a 3 legged puppy. He came to our foster organization with broken leg and pelvis. His leg was broken at 6 locations

He is such a happy and confident puppy. We are sure that he will find a permanent home once he gets more strength. He is already going up and down a few steps and comes running when I call him.

Jake lost his leg but he didn't lose his future

SO CUTE! I'm so glad his operation went well, I'm sure he'll be such a superstar, even on 3 legs Best of luck with finding him a permanent home!!

I LOVE hearing stories like this, it totally made me tear. Awesome to hear little Jakey () is gaining strength and confidence through a loving, compassionate, nurturing family life. It truly ANGERS me to think that he might have had his injuries because of the previous owner (?) who, like many people, have NO HEART and are able to abuse dogs. How could ANYONE abuse such a loving, sensitive, companion??? Awesome job on taking Jake in and rehabilitating him back to physical and emotional health.

If you have a chance, there is a show on animal planet (dogs 101). The most recent one talks about good breeds for the active person. The first breed was the Aussie and the show featured an Aussie who lost her SAME leg as Jake when she was a puppy due to a staff infection. She currently holds the DISC DOG title, competing with dogs with all four legs! It was amazing to watch and brought tears to my eyes. I'm sure it will hit close to home for you.

Just wanted to say, GREAT JOB in what you are doing with Jake! I know that he will be a happy, healthy, loving and trusting, confident dog when he leaves your care!

Hello there!

Jake got adopted by a very nice couple last Wed after a few days of trial.
They have a 6 yrs old husky/shepherd mix named Woody. (picture attached)

My only concern was their home had 2 stories as well as a few steps to the front door from the street.

However, they are very patient and devoted couple and promised that they would provide enough time for Jake to learn how to go up and down the stairs. He was a quick learner! On the second day, when Cynthia was brushing her teeth, Jake came all the way up to the 2nd floor! He also mastered the front steps in no time!

I am so happy that the couple is taking a great care of him but not babying him. Here is a photo of Tango and Woody.

I miss Jake but I have to move on! Got a new foster dog on Friday. He is a young male Aussie mix named Captain. He is very shy and timid. He is getting along well with my dogs and cats. He is already opening up quite a bit

Thank you for your support on Jake!!

Hello, hope Jake will constantly get well. I suggest to give him more accessories to bring out the confident of the pet. Surely, if Jake get more attention, Jake will be more OK. Try to purchase your pet dog accessories or clothing. I would do such simple thing If I were in your shoe. Here my suggested link where I purchase dog accessories: Dog Collars, Dog Tags, Pet ID Tags, Personalized Pet Collars, NFL Collars & more! .
